1. Role of the Platform
mkrent.mk (operated by Mkrent DOO) is a comparison and booking platform for vehicles of registered partner companies in North Macedonia and the Balkans. mkrent.mk does not rent vehicles itself — the rental contract is between you and the partner company. We also offer VIP transfer, private chauffeur, monthly subscription and corporate (B2B) services.
2. Booking and Payment
Payment for car rental is securely processed via Stripe. The shown price is the daily rental rate; optional add-ons such as fuel, additional driver, child seat are charged separately according to the partner company contract. When the booking is complete, you sign the rental agreement at the partner company's pickup point.
3. Cancellation Policy
For car bookings the standard is free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup (unless otherwise stated on the booking page). Late cancellations may incur a fee from the partner company. Use your account's My Bookings page to cancel.
4. Driver Requirements
- Minimum age: 21 (young-driver surcharge may apply under 25)
- Valid driving license held for at least 1 year
- Valid passport or ID document
- Credit/debit card for deposit (in EUR)
- During the rental, the driver may not share the vehicle with an undocumented third party
5. User Accounts
You may open an account to book. You are responsible for the security of your account. Do not share your password. Providing false information, impersonating someone, or attempting bulk bookings via automated tools is grounds for account closure. You may delete your account at any time; under KVKK/GDPR your data is deleted within 30 days (except for legal retention obligations: invoice data 10 years).
6. Prohibited Use
Using the platform for the following is prohibited:
- Scraping / automated price extraction (for API access business@mkrent.mk)
- Fraudulent bookings, fraud
- Spam, fake reviews, partner reputation damage
- Using someone else's identity/card
- Copying copyright-protected content without permission
7. Intellectual Property
The mkrent.mk logo, design, content and software are the property of Mkrent DOO. They may not be used without permission. Vehicle images belong to the partner companies — sourced from their websites or contracted providers.
8. Limitation of Liability
mkrent.mk is not liable for damage, loss, injury or delays during car rental. All claims are addressed directly to the partner company. Basic CDW insurance is included with all rentals; additional insurance is the user's responsibility. Issues with hotel and flight bookings are resolved directly with the provider.
9. Data Protection
How your personal data is used is explained in the Privacy Policy. For cookie usage see the Cookie Policy. GDPR and KVKK compliant.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes are notified by email. Continued use of the platform after the update means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of North Macedonia. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Skopje. EU consumer protection provisions are reserved.
